This unusual telephone was designed in the 1950s by SIEMENS & HALSKE.
Instead of a "Rotary Dial" the dialing is performed vertically.


Inside the "TROMMEL-WAEHLER" (= "Drum-Dial") are the same mechanics -
only vertically mounted - See picture with a W611-Dialer beside ...

... LUCKY: Got the TRANSFORMER of an older W48-Style-Telephone from a friend -
Same size and connections! After replacement: "Tested! - It works fine - NOW!"

                          Historical Remarks ...

The "Trommel-Waehler-Telefon", inspired by ERGONOMETRY,  became not a success:
Secretaries disclaimed broken finger nails ...  Because it was NOT distributed
by  DEUTSCHE POST,  it is a rare COLLECTOR ITEM!  The FOLLOWER of the Trommel-
Waehler-Telefon was a SIMILIAR DESIGN with ROTARY DIAL ...
